General Info

This website showcases a selection of work from clients to personal artworks made by Carlos Quitério.
Carlos is a fine artist / illustrator working in Portugal to worldwide (that's the reason for the English language only here). I also make websites, print design and identities once in a while.

About my work

I got some of the work i consider the most important here divided in a few disciplines on which I focus more often:

- My personal work represented in paintings, drawing and some projects;
- Illustration and graphics, as applied to client oriented requests;
- A merge between a client oriented request and a personal free work where a total concept freedom is given, through cross medias, or not.

My personal working method gives me the ability to try and experiment endlessly on my own lab that is my visual memory, experience and environment that surrounds me.

The achieved result on my figurative work doesn't aim to raise any public/viewers questions or problematics on what's represented: characters, words, phrases and signs interpretations; yet it searches for answers on people's reactions. This way this gives me total freedom to explore any visual sign, new techniques and combinations, gestures and words without even worrying on what's the final result- leaving behind the importance of the academic methods of projecting/thinking and mounting a coherent piece to focus and add more emphasis on what my intuition and first-gestures (sometimes compared and referenced as to "doodling/scribbling) lead into a final piece composed by blocks of instant thoughts and graphic gestures. It's an on-going, progressive and self-recognition process made of aesthetically organized instant-parts.
